Not sure it fits? Hang it with your camera first.
Point your phone at the ceiling, pick a diameter, walk around it. Then switch the lights off to see the shadow it throws on your own ceiling.
Three ways to be sure before you pay
How to pick the right diameter
Over an island or a table, the pendants together should span about half to two thirds of the surface. On an 84″ island that is roughly 46″ of fixture: two 24″ shades, or three 16″. Hang the bottom edge 30 to 36 inches above the counter — low enough to feel like a room, high enough to see across.
Ceiling height changes the shape more than the size. Under 8 ft, a semi-flush or a shallow dome keeps the room from feeling pressed down. At 10 ft and above, a taller bell silhouette fills the volume without needing a wider diameter.
And a note on tone: natural rattan reads warm against white cabinets and disappears a little against oak. If your kitchen already has woven stools, the white-washed finish keeps the room from tipping into all-rattan.
