Nature's own design. No two pieces are exactly alike — and that's the beauty of natural fiber. Gentle variations in color and texture are simply rattan, jute, and seagrass being themselves. A little softness in shade, a little difference in grain — it all adds warmth, and a bit of soul, to the piece you bring home.

Colors may also look slightly different depending on your screen and the light in your space — that's just how natural tones love to play.

Everything arrives pre-assembled in one carton. The wires are printed black / white / ground rather than blue and brown, the canopy covers a standard US 4″ junction box, and a leveling collar on the cord lets you turn the shade plumb with your fingers.

On a sloped ceiling the canopy pivots up to 45°; beyond that ask us for the free sloped adapter. On an 8 ft ceiling the minimum overall drop is 18″, so the bottom edge sits about 32″ above a 36″ counter.

Choosing the plug-in version instead means no electrician at all: 15 ft braided cord, inline dimmer and two swag hooks, nothing permanent.

Vacuum on the lowest suction with the soft brush head: outside of the shade first, top to bottom, then tilt the brush up through the opening and run it around the inside rim once. Finish with a dry microfiber over the outer weave. That is the entire routine for a fixture over an island with a working range hood.

Where not to hang it: directly over the cooktop, or in a kitchen with no hood. Rattan does hold a film there and you will be annoyed.

Over five years natural rattan warms about half a shade toward honey. Most owners read that as patina; the white-washed finish holds its tone longer.
